Combatives we call Fairbairns Hand to Hand Combat today but back in 1942 when this was a Top Secret Classified training mission in Scotland and later in the mysterious “Camp X” in Canada. Back then it was not called Combatives, the program was called “Silent Killing”, as that was the goal of the Commandos and Secret Agents who trained under Fairbairn to use unarmed or army usually the Fairbairn Fighting Knife in covert “Silent Killing” missions.

If you take out the “finish with a kill” aspect, you have an amazing simple easy to learn and brutal self defense a total winner in Street Fight situations, if you train most of the Strikes & Techniques in the first 10 – 12 pages of “Fairbairn’s Get Tough”.  It is simple yet lethal, I can tell you from experience,  when I dropped many techniques and trained to instinctual automatic reaction 3 or 4 of “Fairbairns Get Tough Combatives” such as strikes like Chin Jab, Tiger Claw, Open Handed Slap and yes I confess I have real world street experience using these against violent thugs, Fairbairns Get Tough Hand to Hand Commando Fighting got me better results on the street that years of full contact kick boxing, and Krav Maga.

Get Tough by Fairbairn, I am totally biased in my opinions on Get Tough. To me “Get Tough by Fairbairn is a MUST HAVE Book” for any self defense interested martial artists. It is easy to follow, simple to a the point, low cost, yet you will get years of life saving information in Get Tough. It saved me many a time I am giving Get Tough Fairbairns work of genius 5/5 rating, and a only a few bucks – I say get it, and start training the basic moves,  just leave out the Silent Killing parts!
